About Us
The Viscardi family took its first steps in the hospitality world at the beginning of the 80’s when Hotel Cristoforo Colombo and Hotel Felice Casati were created out of the conversion of two properties the family had owned since the 50’s.
When they opened their doors, the Hotels had 110 and 72 rooms respectively and were classified with three stars. Both Hotels were operated independently by the Viscardi family - without any outside Hotel chain affiliation.
Ten years later, at the beginning of the 90’s, another family building located in the City Centre was converted into a residence: the Residence Cerva.
At the end of the 90’s, with two sons joining the business, the family started a complete re-organisation of the business as well as a complete refurbishment of the two Hotels and of the Residence.
Following three years of meticulous work the Cristoforo Colombo was transformed into a Four Star full service Hotel with 118 rooms, a Restaurant and a SPA and Hotel Felice Casati became a Four Stars full service with 101 rooms. The two hotels both shared an affiliation with the Best Western group at this time.
In 2003 the family bought an area in Via M. Gioia 73, Milan. After four years of work and in conjunction with Intercontinental Hotels Group, they opened in March 2008 the Hotel Crowne Plaza Milan City, another full service Four star Superior Hotel with 109 rooms.
Even though the current Viscardi business strategy is based on chain affiliation, Antonio and Tommaso Viscardi continue to create the ‘Viscardi Hotels’ identity, not only to support the commercial and sale activities, but also to clearly define the identity of the group.
